PERMANENT MAKE UP FAQ’S

SO, ANYTHING ON YOUR MIND?

Here are some of our frequently asked questions:

How Long Does it Last?

Every client has different skin and daily regimens so results can vary. On average a touch up is only needed about once a year.

How Often Do I Need a Touch Up?

Touch ups are recommended once a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. Some clients like to keep them fresh looking and come in before their 12 month mark while others wait 12-18 months in between.

Does it Hurt?

There is minimal discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used during the service. Most clients rate the pain a 3 on a scale from 1-10. After the numbing is applied the pain should be 0-1.

We do not “pre numb” as this can affect color retention

What Should I Do After the Procedure?

Make sure your brows stay clean and dry for 7-10 days and apply your ointment as directed by your brow artist (1-3 times a day) depending on your skin type. You will want to try to keep your brow area as dry as possible when washing you hair and face. No steam, saunas or complete water submersion for 7 days. A complete aftercare sheet will be given to you at the end of your service and your brow artist will answer any question you may have.

How Long Does it Take?

The procedure takes about two hours. The first hour consisting of a thorough consultation and brow shaping. The second hour is devoted to the art and service itself. Please allow a solid two hour window for your appointment. We encourage clients to not have a strict time constraint as this is not a service that we can stop short.

Do I Need to Take a Day off Work?

No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour after. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.

How Long Does it Take to Heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your brows will be dark for the first few days and then will lighten dramatically after the initial healed skin comes off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle in. A good month after your 6 week touch up should pass before we consider the process complete.

Can You Guarantee Your Work?

A guarantee should never be promised in this industry due to many contributing factors outside of our control. One’s skin type, skin undertones, skin texture, skin regimen and medications are just a few. Your face is important to us and we are extremely experienced and qualified in the art of cosmetic pigmentation. We can guarantee that we will make every effort to reach your desired cosmetic goals but again, there are no guarantees in this industry.

Will My Brows be Perfectly Symmetrical?

Your eyebrows aren’t supposed to match.

They aren’t supposed to be exactly symmetrical. The reason they don’t match perfectly is, they are sisters not twins!

Though our faces are NOT perfectly symmetrical (one side is usually flatter than the other), we do our very best to create as much symmetry as possible!
